One of the best ice creams in the world and it's well known globally. Great flavors, real ingredients, and simply delicious. Just wanted to point out that this particular venue is not the location of the factory which is actually located in Waterbury, VT. This is the administrative office and headquarters of the Ben & Jerry's company.

The Ben and Jerry's Factory tour is a must if you're in the area. I must say it's not one of the best factory tours, but it's relatively cheap $4/per person and they do have a couple activities to keep kids entertained. They have a tie dye shirt making area, a playgrounds, a photo-op area, etc. There's also a gift shop area wither some great memorabilia.

This Ben and Jerry experience I had was great. No ice cream can compare to B & J ever. What many people do not know is that every single flavor is made with fair trade contracts which is good for all the local farmers and small family owned companies in Vermont. Let us get to the good part! The ice cream part!!! The ice cream was of course nothing short of amazing. I got one scoop of the famous Cherry flavor and my friend got a Sundae. The consistency of the ice cream is great. So thick and creamy and filled with lots of chunks of deliciousness. Okay my reasoning for the three stars: I was a little disappointed that they did not have the red velvet flavor on the floor. You had to buy a pint of that. I wasn't looking to buy that much ice cream (blame it on my "diet" attempt). Also the tables were disgusting! I have a feeling that since B&J is always busy they forget to have their employees clean the tables. DAMN it was so disgusting. Looked like they had not cleaned it from when they opened that morning. Every single table I tried to sit at was disgusting filled with smeared ice cream that probably dripped off people's spoons or even worse their mouths. The ice cream is great, the location has access to parking but the establishment was very dirty. I feel that being clean is the most important aspect of any business. B&J please clean all your tables!!!!

If you are visiting the area, the Ben & Jerry's Factory Tour is an absolute must! The ticket cost a mere 3 bucks. Really nothing but to help pay for the guides. We didn't make arrangements for a tour -- just walked in on a weekday to check things out. Before we knew it, we were on a terrific tour. The tour takes maybe 30 minutes. We learned some fun facts about B&J. They've been a local institution for East Coasters. Yes, there have been actual Ben & Jerry's shops for decades.... Well before they hit the grocery stores. The tour was interesting and informative. The best part was actually seeing the ice cream factory in action -- quite different from watching some sort of TV special on "how they make" something. It's rather an impressive operation. Afterward, you can get ice cream!!!!!! Of course, the best part. We even learned the best way to scoop ice cream. (Keep your scoopers in luke warm water -- it will help cut through the ice cream easier.)

Ben & Jerry's is the mother ship of all socially conscious small-house capitalism in the US. They practically invented the idea. --Right after they invented the best mass-market ice cream brand ever. And if you're in Burlington, VT -- there 's no excuse for missing the factory tour. (You get ice cream at the end !) Not only is the machinery of producing ice cream interesting -- it's a great place to escape the summer heat (yes, it does get warm in Vermont in the summer lol) The gift shop is almost as good as the factory -- we brought home wonderful ice cream dishes painted in the style of B&J's blue skies and puffy white clouds -- and there's an eye-popping freezer case of treats for the road. What a fun stop!

I went here several years ago. If you're up that way, you should go, it is worth it!

The tour was a mere $3.00, but we were able to score a free ticket by ripping out the advertisement in our hotel magazine. Who knew those things were worth reading? You get a view of the inner workings of the factory. Actually, what we got was a view of the factory while it was not working (Sunday). But they explained how it worked and gave you free ice cream- that was enough for me. There was an extra sample left over- one scoop of Chocowlate chip (it was moolicious!) and the guide was "like does anyone want it?" Of course everyone wanted, but I guess everyone had their polite pants on- "I'll take it," said Tom. And take it Tom did. And then it's over. Pretty quick. Pretty painless. Slight brain freeze. There was a Q&A for anyone with any Qs- some gentleman sporting round glasses, with his legs crossed rather effeminate-ly posited like some ice cream philosophe "How do you get the, umm," arms gesturing in a circular fashion, "goodies" you know equally- umm- equally" searches for the word, "so that they don't all end up in the same carton." He never found the word to complete the phrase; which, by the way was "equally dispersed." But the fact that he said "goodies" and used air quotes was worth the price of admission. When the tour was over you can head down to the scoop shop for all the free samples your Ben and Jerry's heart desires and/or to buy something. We bought nothing. :) We sampled everything. The exterior of Ben and Jerry's factory looks as though it would be a haven for picnic'ers in the warmer months of summer, but not the cooler and wetter time that we were there. Lots of greens perfect for a blanket and some chairs and plenty of tables as well. This place is definitely good for families, potheads and the obese. An obese, pothead family would love it here.

I called about 1 flavor I love which is not in my store now. I was told by a rep it definitely is in the store and that they probably have nto unloaded it yet! . Then it is not. I have tough discussions with the store staff. Then I call again and I was informed that the first person quoted me incorrect information.. and that it MIGHT get that! MIGHT be in the store and the data was based on what had been.. get it? had been IN THE PAST in stock. They sent me free coupons . I dont like the caramel choc fudge vanilla which I got instead. EE

I love some Ben n Jerry. We got here after the factory closed and during the winter time. The staff was real nice we walked around a little and looked and read the history and watched the video. We tried some ice cream and purchased some. I really like their business and wish I was there during the begining. I really enjoy their ice cream and purchase it when I'm home in Socal.

Ben and Jerry's is the epitome of decadent ice cream. It's full of all the fats and sugars you're supposed to steer clear of. It was Ben and Jerry who pioneered the use of chocolate chip cookie dough in ice cream. The great flavors- Boston Cream Pie- Bostonian goodness in a carton. They use landmarks of Bean Town on their carton. Think happy thoughts of the ISG, Boston Common, the North End. Willie Nelson Country Peach- Perfect for munchies. The Stephen Colbert flavor- Full of truthiness. Cherry Garcia- What a long, strange trip it's been. Marzipan Mission Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake Batter Ben and Jerry's combines a social mission with their fatty, sugary flavors. Last year, they exclusively carried "Hubby Hubby" in Vermont to celebrate same-sex nuptials. As a woman said on CBS, "I think gay marriage is an abomination, but I'll have your free scoop of ice cream." So delicious it's sinful.

So, a serving size is what, now? When your spoon hits cardboard? When you stop crying? Right after heart attack no. 2? A FREAKING QUARTER of a PACKAGE? You must be kidding me. What is that, like 8 bites? That's like ordering a shot at the bar and having the bartender tell you it's 2 servings. LIES, my friends, LIES. Weeeeelllll, maybe not ALL lies. I DO seem to remember entering college as a 190-pound, 6'2" dude with a good tan, and exiting college with a Wavy Gravy addiction, at 6'4" and....well...not 190. Indeed, I haven't seen 190 since. Admittedly, I also haven't seen a whole summer spent hucking 18-inch PVC irrigation pipe a few hundred yards across a meadow of alfalfa, either. And that might have something to do with it. But I think I'll still blame Ben & Jerry's. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is the pot of B&J's ice cream. Everyone likes it, and it gets you hooked. It's basically just a lot like vanilla ice cream, just much better. Pretty soon, a few months later, you find yourself waking up in a warehouse in Oakland, mainlining Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and by that time, it's too late. You're hooked. And there's no looking back. Even if, like me, B&J's discontinues your drug of choice (Wavy Gravy, oh where can you be?) you'll just get hooked on the Next Big Thing. I started freebasing Cinnamon Bun, and that's when I knew my life was spiralling out of control into a sea of deliciousness. I can't really say that B&J's has cost me my friends (they all do it, too) or my family (who are all as addicted as me) or my job (although my boss has commented that I need to lose a few pounds). Or really even cost me that much money, since it's pretty affordable. But, nevertheless, damn you, Ben & Jerry, for your endless cavalcade of tasty frozen awesomeness! From hell's heart, I stab at thee! Pass me a spoon, to, uh, better stab at them.......

as i write this review for ben and jerry's it's fall and that is my favorite time of year. the smell in the air, the leaves on the ground, the cool chill of the wind and best of all pumpkin cheesecake ice cream. it's limited to the last part of the year so i have to usually search for this great treat and stock up while i can. and what makes this ice cream even better is the grahaam cracker crust swirl. now that's what makes a great cheesecake and this the best ice cream for this time of year. with so many great and unusaul flavors to choose from for so many year they have really left many of those bigger ice cream companies out to melt. the combinations mixed in with the different kinds of ice creams make it really tough to decide on what kind to buy at any given time. i always need to read what the ingredients are mixed in because with those wacky names for the flavors it's antone's guess. here are just a few favorites............. Pumpkin Cheesecake- Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice Cream with a Thick Graham Cracker Swirl Coconut Seven Layer Bar- Coconut Ice Cream with Coconut & Fudge Flakes, Walnuts & Swirls of Graham Cracker & Butterscotch Willie Nelson's Country Peach Cobbler- Peach Ice Cream with Cinnamon-Sugar Shortbread Pieces & a Peach Swirl Turtle Soup- Vanilla Ice Cream with Fudge Covered Caramel Cashews & a Caramel Swirl Stephen Colbert's AmeriCone Dream- Vanilla Ice Cream with Fudge Covered Waffle Cone Pieces & a Caramel Swirl i have so many more i love but i don't want to get myself going all ice cream crazy at 2am with no ice cream in the freezer.
